To say 2016 has started off with a BANG for us would be an understatement. Just as it would be to say we have been “keeping busy.” We’re in the midst of working on the samples for our 2017 collection, sending gowns from our 2016 collections to trunk shows across the country, and, on top of it all, we’ve been blessed with being able to participate in styled shoots. Several of them.
What’s a styled shoot? Simply put, it’s a mock wedding photographed in the hopes that the pictures will be featured in blogs or magazines. Vendors from across the bridal industry (i.e. florists, cake decorators, event planners, etc.) participate in these shoots by lending their time and talents. It’s just another fun way to market ourselves and network at the same time. And via the published images, brides-to-be are inspired for their own special day.
If you've been keeping up with us via Facebook or Instagram, you've seen that most recently Ruffled Blog featured the styled shoot with our gowns Dahlia and Aspen. The Kate-Spade-New-York-inspired shoot took place in Vancouver, Canada at the Pop Up Wedding Shoppe. The striking contrasts of the black and white against the pops of hot pink and gold had both G and I “ooohing and ahhing.” Here are some of our favorite shots of our gowns from that very shoot:

Now, what you don’t see or experience when the shoots are published is everything else that happens behind the camera. Take for example these pics I snapped at the styled shoot we were a part of back in February at the beautiful Ritchie Hill venue in Concord NC.
For some of the shoots, we are not able to be there. But when we can go, we do. Why? We help out with pressing the dresses and getting the models in them. We can also be an extra set of hands wherever and whenever we are needed. Plus, photoshoots are fun - we get to see someone else's vision come to life at venues we may have never been to.
We still have quite a few more shoots coming up before the end of the month - each featuring a different dress - and we couldn’t be more excited to see the pics! We’ll definitely share the pictures with you as they get shared with us, so make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram if you haven’t already.
