A Dream Wedding at Chevy Chase Country Club
Nicole and Dan's late summer wedding was a dream come true. The happy couple wed at the Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling, IL — a suburb of Chicago. They exchanged their vows under a flower-adorned archway as family and friends watched.
A Memorable US Navy-Air Force Wedding in Cleveland
Not even a school rivalry could keep these two from falling in love. Kat (a US Naval Academy grad) and Josh (a US Air Force Academy grad) met while they were both stationed in South Carolina. A couple years later, the military life moved them to Florida. From there they planned their out-of-state summer wedding in Kat's native Ohio.
A Romantic Phoenixville Foundry Wedding
Philadelphia will always hold a special place in our hearts. That's where we spent our college years. It's where the idea for Edith Élan first started. And now, it's also where our bride Nichole's love story begins.

Should you get more than one wedding dress? How do you choose which wedding dresses to get?

How to style a ballgown wedding dress with sleeves for a spring wedding, a fall wedding, and a winter wedding.

When wedding dress shopping, every bride envisions something different for their wedding day. Some see a bohemian desert wedding. Others see a sunset beach wedding, a mountain top elopement, or a traditional church wedding. While 100 brides might pick the same dress, not one of those ceremonies, receptions, or wedding details will be the same. Each bride has their own vision, design aesthetic, and their own personal style. All these things plus how they style their wedding gown is an expression of their élan.
And, that right up there is one of the many reasons we love seeing the photos of a bride in her Edith Élan wedding dress. We don’t create the dresses for ourselves. We create them for the brides so that they can express their personal style.

Planning your honeymoon is a part of the wedding process. And even if it doesn’t happen for over a year after the “I dos” as was the case with mine, it's never too early to think about where to go. I didn’t honeymoon in Japan, but I have been and I loved it! If you’re considering a honeymoon to Japan, there are some fabulous things to see and do in the Land of the Rising Sun.
As wedding dress designers, we know finding the right style for your wedding dress can feel overwhelming at times. Especially when there are countless articles and online quizzes out there telling you one thing or another. Even if you were to read every article or take every quiz, you could still be left wondering what it is you are looking for. It’s going to sound profound, but sometimes taking a glance inward reveals the answers.

In bridal, wedding dresses with pockets have gained popularity within the last five years or so. And it's easy to see why. First of all, convenience! But also, when a bride tries on a dress only to discover it has hidden pockets, her excitement cannot be contained. She is bound to let her entourage know: "OMG... IT HAS POCKETS!"
There is nothing more wonderful for a woman than a dress with pockets. Men, I'm not kidding. Compliment a woman in a dress and you will inevitably hear: "Thanks, it has POCKETS!"
Last week the bridal industry was rocked with news that the big box retailer missed a $270 million interest payment. Is this the writing on the wall for David’s Bridal? And if it is, what does that mean for brides shopping on a limited wedding dress budget? What does it mean for the rest of the bridal industry?
A St. Louis Wedding in the Fall
"Simple, elegant, and relaxed." Those are the three words our Chicago bride, Annie, uses to describe her bridal style for her St. Louis wedding. From the wedding dress to the wedding venue, Annie lets us in on the details of her special day.
A California girl marries a prince in the Royal Wedding of 2018. While the love story of the newly-minted Duke and Duchess of Sussex is the kind of story that inspires fairy tales, as a bridal designer, we know her bridal style is the kind that will inspire brides-to-be for years.
At least once a month and usually on a Friday, we write a long Instagram post where we introduce our newest followers to the world of Edith Élan bridal. We usually list some things we like or do so that you can get to know us better. This time around things are a little different. It's our very first vlog!
It has become our tradition to share our reflections/memories with you at the start of a new year. Sometimes we’ve done it through the “Instagram Best Nine” or through a blog post or both. With the second week of 2018 rapidly ending, we wanted to share with you EÉ’s top 17 memories of 2017.
It's almost been one year since our beautiful bride Mary traveled to Ireland to marry her beau Donnchadh. But, we've known Mary for over two years. We met Mary at the launch of our Fall/Winter 2016 collection back in September of 2015. When it was time for her to pick her wedding dress, it was our honor to have her be an Edith Élan bride!

Some dresses come together beautifully. From the original sketch to the production sample, it’s 100% EXACTLY as envisioned. Our Leyla, was not one of those gowns.
Leyla is a wonderful mix of elements from other gowns in the collection, as well as, new elements to set her apart. She is a lovely blend of 1940’s glamour and modern-day minimalist, and we wouldn’t take her any other way.
Just like newlyweds, you sometimes lose track of time as a creative entrepreneur. We can't believe it's been a little over a year since Mel and Dave tied the knot! We thought we would share some of the beautiful images from their special day as a way to celebrate their love. No bias here... okay maybe a little... but Mel was so effortlessly charming in our Tamarisk gown! Or rather, her Tamarisk gown.
It’s always been our dream to showcase our designs in an international setting. This year, that dream came true. Here’s a cute story about this American bridal designer's adventures in London.

A year ago almost to the day, we introduced the world to the Edith Élan name. We were green fashion designers taking the "big plunge" exhibiting at our first bridal industry event. At New York Bridal Fashion Week, no less. What a learning experience that was!
With a new collection in tow plus styles that continued on from our the previous collection, one thing was for sure: it was time for a booth upgrade! Gone were the days of a cramped 10' x 10' space. But before we could even start to work on our booth, we had to get there.

To say 2016 has started off with a BANG for us would be an understatement. It would also be an understatement to say we have been “keeping busy.” At this moment, we’re in the midst of working on the samples for our 2017 collection. We're sending gowns from our previous collection to trunk shows across the country. And, on top of it all, we’ve been blessed with being able to take part in styled shoots.

It's easy to get caught up in our own world and get NOTHING else done! But luckily, we have the award season to pull us from our abstraction. It'll give us the much needed inspiration, "oohs, ahhs, and what the hell were they thinking's!"
Bridal fashion has the added fun in that we can look back at current bridal trends and see where on the red carpet they originated. This year's red carpet will have some trends that are right on point and some that will thankfully go to the wayside. Here are our favorite trends that will grace the white carpets!

As I type this, I’m realizing that Christmas is one week away and the new year is only TWO WEEKS AWAY!!! Where did the year go?! Can time slow down a bit?
Reflecting on the Year Past
This has been an adventure and a giant learning curve as we grow Edith Élan! For as glamorous as we would like to think owning and running our own fashion design company should be, it’s not. In fact, it’s cliché. It’s been a roller coaster of ups and downs. Stress over this. Celebrate that. Plan this. Worry about that. Design this. Forget that. Sew this. Unstitch that, and so on. Luckily, we can count on our fabulous support system of friends and family to keep us sane and motivated.
So, to all of you wonderful people: THANK YOU!!! (a million times over)
To G: Thanks partner! I wouldn’t have chosen anybody else to make this dream come true with me. We love and fight like sisters, but that’s what makes us awesome. #loveyou #donteverchange #phraseswritteninhighschoolyearbooks #butimeanit #yesididjusthashtaginablog
This coming year will be a year of learning for us as well. And another year of growth. While we don’t know exactly what it will hold, there are a few things we do know. We know we already have our favorite and not-so-favorite bridal trends. So without further ado, here they are.
