"Simple, elegant, and relaxed." Those are the three words our Chicago bride, Annie, uses to describe her bridal style. And, we couldn't agree more! She looked gorgeous in her customized Isolde gown, which she said yes to early last year. Some nine months after that she was in St. Louis saying, "I do." Now here we are a year later, and she and her beau are celebrating their first anniversary!
Annie + Sam
Annie and Sam's wedding ceremony took place at her parent's church in the presence of loved ones. Afterwards, they danced the night away at Willow in STL. In there, they found time to wander the streets and greenways of St. Louis with their photographer (husband and wife duo Katie and Mike of Vein + Vessel).
Annie chose our Isolde gown. It's a silk crepe A-line dress with a low V in both the front and back, and with a touch of sparkle too. During the fitting process, she worked with Dani at Dame Couture to customize the dress. That's also when she had a little more sparkle added! The end result was a perfect dress for her in both style and in fit.
But why did she chose Isolde in the first place? According to Annie, it was because of its "clean lines with a touch of detail on the back. The silk crepe fabric was incredibly comfortable and moved beautifully. It has just enough detail for my style."
A Day Full of Greenery & Love
When asked to describe her wedding in one sentence, Annie said, "Our wedding day was simple, elegant, and full of love (and greenery) - just like us!" And their amazing pictures prove it!
The Dress Search
Any past bride will tell you that they tried on several dresses until they found "The One." Annie's case was no different. So, was Isolde anything like she imagined she would have picked?
"Yes and no... I always thought I wanted something more 'boho' and with lace. Although I did try many styles like that on during my search, when I tried on the Isolde gown I knew it was perfectly me!"
Annie's Favorite Moment
Walking down the aisle! It was epic and beautiful. We weren't planning on getting married in a church, but ended up at my parents beautiful church in St. Louis. It made for such a gorgeous and dramatic entrance, and my Dad was such a calming presence during what seemed like a long walk with many eyes all on me!
Advice to Future Brides
To any future brides that are about to start their dress search, or to any that may even be in the middle of it, here's Annie's advice to you:
Don't get too focused on the idea in your head. Be open to trying on styles you may not have thought you wanted and truly go based on how YOU feel. You will look the most beautiful when you feel like a queen in your dress, and that is how I felt on my wedding day!
"The fabric was incredible and so comfortable all day long and I truly felt like a million bucks! I wish I get a chance to wear my incredible gown again, even just for fun!" - Annie
Yes, Annie, you hands-down looked like a million bucks! And if you ever wear your gown again, you let us know... we'd love to see the pictures.
Happy Anniversary, Annie & Sam!
