How to style a ballgown wedding dress with sleeves for a spring wedding, a fall wedding, and a winter wedding.
Written by Gretchen
When wedding dress shopping, every bride envisions something different for their wedding day. Some see a bohemian desert wedding. Others see a sunset beach wedding, a mountain top elopement, or a traditional church wedding. While 100 brides might pick the same dress, not one of those ceremonies, receptions, or wedding details will be the same. Each bride has their own vision, design aesthetic, and their own personal style. All these things plus how they style their wedding gown is an expression of their élan. And, that right up there is one of the many reasons we love seeing the photos of a bride in her Edith Élan wedding dress. We don’t create the dresses for ourselves. We create them for the brides so that they can express their personal style. A Versatile Bridal Ballgown with Long Sleeves
When it comes to Iman, she is a unique and multifaceted wedding dress. Her soft wool crepe is the perfect fabric for keeping a bride warm in the cooler months. But, it still has a beautiful drape for a flowy skirt and comfortable fit.
Then, there’s the details. She has intricate beadwork along the neckline, keyhole back, and on the sleeves. If you look closely, there are tiny crystals, seed beads, pearls, and silver embroidery that sparkle in the light. Her ballgown silhouette is sexy enough with a deep plunging neckline and open back. Plus, the shoulder pads create a “suit-like” appearance that keeps the dress from being too traditional. By the way, did I mention she has pockets! A perfect place to hold a small keepsake handkerchief, as well as, a cell phone. So... Without further ado, here are three different weddings where the bride is wearing our Iman wedding dress. Elegant Snowy Winter Mountain Elopement (Park City, Utah)
For this winter mountain wedding in Park City, Utah, the entire day revolved around the dress. One of the first things people say when they see our Iman gown is that it’s a perfect dress for a winter wedding. As you can see from these breathtaking photos, she was right at home in the snow-covered landscape!
The bride, Danielle, looked nothing short of regal with her hair in a loose side braid. Because the gown is such a statement piece on its own, the bouquet was kept small, but it still made a statement of its own. The soft, romantic color palette of the bridal bouquet with its dusty pinks and lights greens was modern with its asymmetrical shape. To complete the look, the accessories were minimal. She wore three-drop diamond earrings to match her engagement ring. With no other jewelry on her hands and a light pink manicure, the ring was the centerpiece.
Whimsical Spring Garden Wedding (West Ridge Nature Preserve, Chicago, Illinois)
Kelly and Natalie surrounded themselves in the lush greenery of the West Ridge Nature Preserve for their Chicago wedding. Shades of pink and vintage accents brought a refreshing spring vibe to the wedding details.
For her whimsical garden wedding, the Iman gown was a perfect fit for bride, Natalie. It kept her warm and comfortable on the crisp spring day. It was also the right balance of whimsy and sophistication that she was looking for.
To keep her look playful, Natalie had a crown of baby’s breath made using the braided updo its a foundation. Her bridal look had a natural feel to it with its minimal eye makeup and dusty rose lipstick. The final touch was a large bouquet of garden roses, eucalyptus, and wildflowers.
Romantic Fall Elopement (Shady Oaks Camp, Homer Glen, Illinois)
The bride and groom wanted a fun and romantic venue for their fall elopement. The indoor ceremony and reception space was warm and inviting despite the drop in temperature outside. It also wouldn’t be a fun camp wedding without the glow of candlelight, cozy blankets, and DIY smores!
The bride kept her look cheerful, but elegantly romantic. Her low bun updo meant you’d be able to see the back of the dress. But, a simple, delicate gold lariat hairpin gave her hair that added sparkle and shine. Her grand bouquet had peonies, roses, and light greens in muted, romantic colors to compliment the fall day.
